Lonnie Nicholson EECU President/CEO, center, meets with representatives of the UNT Health Science Center to discuss building partnerships between businesses and higher education.
EECU sponsored the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce State of Higher Education luncheon. Executives of three of Tarrant County’s largest education institutions: TCU, Tarrant County College and UT Arlington participated in a panel discussion on the future of higher education and adapting to the needs of tomorrow's workforce.

To meet the needs of the rapidly evolving workplace, best practices include:
  • building partnerships with business to promote opportunities and awareness
  • recruiting and nurturing a non-traditional student population
  • guiding students through a best-fit option whether it is a degree, certificates or continuing education
All three executives stressed being flexible to students’ changing educational needs and the importance of partnering with Fort Worth’s business community. EECU’s President/CEO, Lonnie Nicholson, who also serves as Chairman of the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, hosted the education leaders.
